The unique ensemble was formed in 2005, with members, Francisco Roldan (guitar), Alexander Wu (piano), Hilliard Greene (double bass) and Danny Mallon (percussions) and has been receiving great accolades for its attractive acoustical blend, versatility and visually entertaining performances.
The ZigZag quartet brings innovative programs with a wide variety of musical styles, including their own arrangements of the classics, spanning three centuries: from the Baroque to jazz and Latin American to premiered works written for the quartet. A mix of solos, duos and trios showcase the artists and the instruments.
The ZigZag quartet has recently performed at Mannes College 2008 Guitar Festival, the Puffin Gallery, Yamaha Artists Concert Series, St. Peter’s Church at the Citigroup Center, Roerich Museum and numerous local venues throughout the Tri-state area.
The ZigZag Quartet made its Lincoln Center debut at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in November 2008.
